Magic Lantern

Welcome to the last challenge for 2020, the CCEE Stampers team is having a short break before recommencing in the new year.

For the CCEE2050 challenge, Hostess Lynn is asking that your cards reflect a seasonal light of hope and promise for a brighter new year. It can be represented by a candle, the lights on a Christmas tree, the star of Bethlehem, or any other light that comes to mind.

Magic and Hope is my inspiration for this card, a guided light thought the forest is what is needed to see us through the rest of the year.

I started with white card and using the Misti stamp press I stamped the background of trees, in one ink and then sponged on another colour and re-stamped it, to add different shades to the trees. I then positioned the Fairy and stamped it in black ink. I created a circle but die cutting it in acetate and sponged in the light. I then used a torn paper stencil and ink to ground the fairy and sponged the edges. The white card was a quite stark background for the trees so using a stencil I added some blue ink to create the illusion of clouds.

Supplies used : Hero Arts - Cathedral of trees
Lavinia Stamps - Enchanted Dreams, Lavinia Stencil - Flourish
Inks: Versafine Clair - Verdant
Distress Oxide ink - squeezed Lemonade
Distress ink Mustard Seed, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Broken China
