Blackout Embossing

For this card I have tried the Blackout Embossing technique. I used kraft card stock and embossed the card. Then on the de-embossed side I rubbed over the card with a black inkpad, leaving the de-embossed area the Kraft card colour and the raised area dark resembling a suede look. I then added the ribbon, sentiment and die cut daisy flower.

Filled to the brim

I made this for a challenge card themed Friendship.
I chose the silhouette stamp for the theme, sharing a cup with a friend is great therapy. I added the die cut embellishment for a bit of interest.
On the inside I made the teacup pop up using dies, I added some vellum smoke and a gold spoon. I then added the sentiment and the teacup border.

 Supplies:
Karen Burniston dies - 1269 - Tea and Coffee pop-up, 1270 - Boarder tea and coffee
Penny Black - sentiment cup of tea
Altenew - Ladies Day out.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Circle slide and Lock Gate Fold

I went a bit retro for these cards. I have had these images for some time in my stash of supplies.
I have used some embossing folders that I have had for some time. I used direct to paper technique to highlight the raised areas with gold ink. I then made a gate fold card base.
Usually, a gate fold card is held closed with ribbon or a belly band. For this one I made a slide lock to hold the card closed.

I cut 4 circles, folding 2 in half and attaching the folded halves in the middle between the other 2 circles, this creates the lock. I the die cut the images and added them to the lock circles.

You can make the locks in other shapes or make the so that you can add shaped embellishments.

 Thanks for looking today.

Chilly Days

This is another stencil background that I had made the other day, this time I have used the distress inks, kitsch flamingo and shaded lilac. This time I have used a Penny Black snowman that I had found in my stash of stamped images.

Farmers Market

This week on Crazy4Challenges we have been asked to create a card with the Farmers Market in mind.

What’s in season to eat at your farmers market? Make a card inspired by your local harvest. Even if it’s 6 months ago for the Southern Hemisphere. You can but don’t necessarily have to use the actual fruit or veg. You can just use the colours or textures. Like pink and green or pink with black dots for watermelon. Yellow plaid or use a square stencil for corn etc.

I have had this image for awhile but it is a favourite. I stamped the image and coloured it and stencilled the background. I have used the Cherry Lyn step die to create the base card and it has extra dies to cut the designer paper panels.

The designer paper stack had these cute sentiment panels, this one just matched the stamp so well.

Just showing the side view of the step.

Thread the needle

Today on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog is the C4C594 challenge.

Tomorrow will be Thread the Needle Day. For our challenge this week incorporate the theme "Sewing" into our cards. Use sewing theme images/words; Sewing themed patterned papers or actually sewing of any type on your cards.

I use the quilted backdrop die with some designer paper for the background. I found this die in my stash, when this die first came out it had some matching bead stickers. I stamped the image onto the background and onto white card, after colouring it in, I cut it out and using foam tape squares I placed it over the background one.

On the inside I added the pop up Hello and a stamped image and sentiment.

Supplies:
Penny Black - stitches
Lawn Fawn - Oliver's stitched ABC, quilted backdrop, Pop up - Hello
Spellbinders - die and pearl sticker

Bee Hi

I made this card for the challenge with the crazies team on Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.

Apparently July10 is "Don't Step on A Bee Day" … good advice, don't you think. For our challenge this week, create a card that includes at least one bee on it.

I created the scene on the card front using stamps, stencil, and dies.

Inside I created the pop up scene inside used a die from Karen Burniston mini pops pop up die set. I used retired dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs to decorate the inside.

Supplies:
Penny Black stamp - Cute as a bug
Karen Burniston - mini pops pop up
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Retired honeycomb, bees, bee hive dies.

Happy Mail

Today I am sharing the card that I have made for the CCEE Stampers blog challenge CCEE2105.

Thank a Mailman Day Who doesn’t love a happy mail? I am sure every one of us is doing a happy dance when we have something landed at our doorsteps. However, this happiness would not have been possible without the mail men who are all the time on the roads, roaming and locating people with their loaded trucks. So, why not thank them for delivering our packages? Create a project which showcases a mailman/postman, a letter box, letter, mail truck, envelopes.

For my card I pulled out my supplies of Penny Black stamps and found this one with a different way to deliver the mail.

Life is just Peachy

This is my card for the CCEE Stampers blog challenge Peach. I went and dived into my older stamps and found this Penny Black/Mo Manning image from a few years ago.

Liz is hosting her last challenge for August today and  perhaps you did not realize August is Peach Month, and peach is also Liz's favorite color. So on your cards this week use the color peach or perhaps even a peach image or peach pie! Yummy!

Christmas Holidays

Today is the second last challenge for 2019 with the Crazy4Challenges design team.
Being that it is a busy time of the year, Hostess Frances is keeping our challenge today fairly simple.

Use your favorite holiday stamps/dies on your creations. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then use one of your favorite stamps/dies.

I love Penny Black images and always use a few each year, I also love this pull card die designed by Karen Burniston (retired from her ECD days) My sentiment and banner are from Lawn Fawn one of my favourite companies this year.

FGM Challenge Wiper card

Today I am sharing the card that I made for the monthly challenge that I do with some friends, our challenge is to make a wiper card.

This is the first time I have made one, there are a lot of tutorials out there and I watched a few as I understood the concept but sometimes a visual explanation is better.

Basically you have what looks like a normal card but instead of opening it up you pull on the sides and out pops a panel with a sentiment or picture.

It is so much fun to play with I will certainly be making some more of them.

Thanks for looking today...……..

There's Hope

My card today is made for the CCEEstampers weekly challenge.

In the United States, April is the National Month of Hope. This week Lynn challenges us to create a card with a sentiment of encouragement to send to a friend who is in need of a spark of love and hope in their lives. Sometimes the smallest gesture can light that spark.

The other day I caught up with a friend who I hadn't seen for a long time, she has been going through some rough times, I thought of her when I made this card, she loves a nice cup of tea.

I have used retired Karen Burniston dies to create my card, I love this die set I am sorry that it has been retired.
The stamps are a sentiment set from Penny Black, called cup of tea.

I heart you

Hi Everyone

Here is my card for the CCEE stampers challenge this week.

Today is Valentine's day and it is also my birthday this week, so please create a birthday card for someone you love.

I die cut the heart background die in red card, I then cut the heart shape out of the background piece and mounted it with foam tape squares. I then stamped and fussy cut the Penny Black image and added it and the Happy Birthday die cut words and shadow to the card.  I just carried  the stamped elements over to the inside.
