Colour combination

Today on Crazy4challenges we have a colour combination challenge.

I heat embossed a stencilled background on white card with clear embossing ink. I then used distress oxides for the colours and used floral die in gold card.

Supplies: 
Simon says stamp folkdance stencil, clear embossing powder, distress oxides ink worn lipstick, twisted citron, broken china, squeezed lemonade, paper roses happy birthday die, floral die free in the Die-cutting essentials magazine issue 33, gold card

My Country

Welcome to this week challenge with the CCEE team.

 April is National Poetry Month, and today is Poem in Your Pocket Day.  I'm asking that you create a card using a poem as your inspiration.

 For my Poem I chose My Country by Dorothea Mackellar. 

Undoubtedly it was the few lines in the  second verse that has been my inspiration for this card.

                                                 I love a sunburnt country,
                                                A land of sweeping plains,
                                                Of ragged mountain ranges,
                                                Of droughts and flooding rains

To create by background I have used distress inks. Crushed olive, carved pumpkin, rusty hinge, scattered straw, tumbled glass, shaded lilac, sponged and wiped across the card. The mountains are a mask made with Karen Burniston pop-it western edges (retired). The dies are Paper Roses -  Men sitting on fence, Ultimate crafts - Gum tree and water tank.

Eat Dessert first.

Welcome to another challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges team.

Today is National Banana Cream Pie Day - one of my favourites! My challenge to you is to create a Dessert card - which can include pie of course, or ice cream, or cookies - anything you consider to be a sweet dessert!

Sometimes you just don't have room for dessert, so I just love this sentiment " Life is uncertain Eat dessert first!"
When I found a supply of micro bead, that looked like cake sprinkles I knew I just had to make a shaker card since it had been awhile since I had made one.

I created the card using the Stitched square frames from Paper Roses and the Stampendous cling cupcake ant. I placed a few drops of glue around the ant before adding the micro beads so they stayed in place and didn't all fall to the bottom.
Here is the card lying flat to show all the beads.
