Penguin hugs

Hi Crafting Friends,

This is my card for the challenge with my friends on the CCEE STampers blog.

Apparently the 25th April was World Penguin Day ... feature penguins on your cards this week. Don't have penguins, then create a black and white card.

As you can see I did find some penguins and to follow on from the challenge from week two this month, I decided to try a double stencil background.

I die cut a heart out of acetate and using the negative piece I placed it over the card and the put the heart stencil over the top and added the ink over the top with a sponge dauber making sure that I had good coverage before removing the stencils.
I had these penguins in my supplies from when I was trying out my brother scan and cut, I had cut out a heap of images just saving them until I needed them.

I completed my card with a die cut sentiment layered 3 times and matted the die cut piece onto the card base.

Frog Yoga

Welcome Crafting friends,
Today is challenge day with my friends on the Crazy4Challenges blog

According to the days of the year calendar April 25 is save the frogs day. Make a card with a frog on
it.

Well I have had this frog stamp set for quite sometime just waiting for the right challenge.
I can just imagine everyone staying in and practicing their Yoga techniques in this crazy world right now.

The stamp set come with 5 frog poses and I couldn't resist, I just had to use them all. They also had some corresponding sentiments.

I used Karen Burniston 1009- Twist panel pop-up die for inside the card and added pieces from the Lawn Fawn bayou backdrop die.

Here are some closer images of the frogs and sentiments.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Birthday Surprise

Welcome to today's challenge with team on CCEE Stampers blog.

For our challenge this week, lets create an interactive card that pop, slide or move in any shape or form.… what type you make is up to you.

I thought it was time to try out the explosion pop up die from Karen Burniston. I am going to say I had a lot of trouble with this die when I first got it as it would cut through the perforation folds. I just couldn't get it to work so I put it aside, I then thought that the die cutting machine was applying too much pressure so I thought I would try it again with new cutting plates, which seemed to work.

The card look  rather simple from the front, but then you open it to reveal...…...

The explosion as it was made for a Birthday card I just added several balloons and a die cut Happy Birthday.

Smile for happiness

It is time for the sketch challenge with the Crazy4Challenges design team.

Having a sketch is a good way to have a front layout if you want the focus to be on the inside.

On the inside of my card I have used Karen Burniston's photo collage  pop-up. Something that I have been wanting to use for some time, Now I seem to have all this time on my hands. Instead of photos I have used Fizzy Moon celebrations designer paper elements.

The mechanism collapses down completely when folded and swivels up when you open the card.

The card opens completely flat for displaying.

You are beautiful

Welcome to my post today.
Our challenge with the CCEE Stampers blog design team is to use stencils.

There are so many fun stencils out there these days, to help decorate our cards.
Let's create a card that uses at least one stencil, either for a background or focal image.

I created a stencil background with the Altenew sketched lines stencil and distress oxide ink. I mounted it onto the card base after layering it onto black card. I have used the Build a flower Magnolia stamp and die set for my main element. I coloured them in with copic ink pens. And add gold twine behind the foam mounted image.

Showers and rainbows

Welcome to this weeks challenge with the Crazy4Challeges design team.

You know what they say April showers bring May flowers, so this weeks challenge is to make a card with rain or a rainbow on it.

I have crated a card with a split front and have the rainbow join the two halves together. I created the rainbow with circle dies glued together and added the hedgehog and clouds to finish the card. On the inside I added the cloud stencil on the inside of the card so that you can see it through the front panel.

I found that the card was too flimsy so to help with the strengthening of the card I added some acetate in between the layers, but still kept the look that I was after.

Unicorn Day

It is time for a card challenge with my friends on the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Apparently today is Unicorn Day … so let's feature unicorns on our cards this week.

I created a stenciled sky with distress inks. The stamps I have used are from the Avery Elle Peekaboo Fair set. The wheel comes empty which is kind of fun. For this challenge I just added the unicorns that come in the set, but I can see lots of uses for this stamp set.

High Five

                                                             Hi Crafting friends,
My card today is for the Crazy4Challenges design team challenge. Nicky is our hostess for the month.

April is Autism Awareness month. I believe this is such an important message as I’m sure most of us know or love someone who is on the Autism Spectrum and sharing is caring, so this weeks challenge is to use the Autism Awareness Logo as inspiration, it could be a colour challenge, theme challenge or design Challenge, however this image speaks to you.

I have twin great Nephews who both have Autism and April is their birthday month.
So I decided to make  birthday cards this is the first one, I am not sure what the other one will be.

For my card I have used the Magic Iris die from Lawn Fawn, I have found that practice makes this die easier to use.

I added the die cut balloons around the card and I love the way you can use these high five characters to add some cuteness to the card.

Waratah Flowers

The design team challenge on CCEE Stampers this week in in the garden.

According to the Days of the Year web site, April is Garden Month.
So for our challenge this week be inspired by a Garden … flowers, plants, trees, insects, garden shed, etc.
Anything that you might find in a garden is good for this challenge

I chose a stamp set from Beccy's Place for my garden card and the spotlight technique to highlight the Waratah Flower. On the inside I have used my favourite die from Karen Burniston, the Katherine label die for the sentiment.
