Favourite five for 2014

For my Final post for 2014, I thought would share my favourite five creations and also join in this   challenge that Debby from A Scrapjourney does each year.

My cards are in no particular order other than a process of elimination.

                                                      September - Word Play hug

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year and many thanks to each person who has looked or left a comment on my blog.

Purple Pivot

I created this card for a 30th birthday, to match a wine glass with purple flowers painted on it. Don't you just hate it when the photo just doesn't do your creation justice. I chose a deep purple card base, now it just looks like muddy brown.
For the base card, I used the Katie Pivot die from Elizabeth Craft designs, designed by Karen Burniston.
I then embossed the front panel and used daisy peel off stickers designed to match the Kaite Label die and micro fine glitter to make them all sparkly, then coloured them with copic pens and added gems stones to the flower center.

The Happy Birthday words were cut out twice on purple card and once of sparkly washi tape then joined to create 3D look. Inside I added the die cut glitter numbers and another daisy.

2014 Christmas Favourites.

It is time to play to play along with Debby from A Scrapjourney  and share our top five Christmas cards for 2014.
Each year I promise myself that I will work on Christmas through out the year so I have a lovely stash to choose from when it comes to this time of the year. However when I looked through all the cards that I have made there were only a few Christmas ones, by accident all the cards I have chosen have been challenges as part of CCEE Stampers design team.

From Under the Sea

I made this card for my Daughter's friend whom she met when they worked at DisneyWorld in Florida.

The card base was made using Sizzix stand up die "Elegant" designed by Stephanie Barnard.  I then used Elizabeth Craft Designs shimmer sheetz cutting it to fit before embossing it with waves embossing folder. To fit the panel in the folder, I had to place it on its side that gave the impression of seaweed, I then used a sanding block to reveal the white core and highlight the embossed area.

Ariel ( EK Success DMMCS princess set) was stamped on white card, I then added double sided tape over the image and added micro fine glitter to the sticky side. She was then coloured in with copic pens and fussy cut. The background behind Ariel was embossed with a bubble folder, highlighted with light blue copic pen and wink of stella glitter pen.

Here is the card ready for posting.

CCEE 1450 Staring Santa

This is our final CCEE Stampers challenge for 2014 and it is a simple one just make Santa the star of your card design.
I chose the Art Impressions tri-fold Santa set, Three main images used to create a tri-fold card. How ever for my card I used the Karen Burniston designed Lorna label pop-up die from Elizabeth craft designs to create the 3D effect. I also used the Katie Label smaller dies to create a mat on the floor.

The card front was embellished using the tag die set.

Here is a closer look at Santa snoozing in the chair, by the time he gets down under he needs a bit of a rest not that he needs the fire place but more like he needs a dip in the swimming pool.

I would like to thank everyone who has followed and looked at my blog as part of the CCEE Stampers design team.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and remember to return in January for the fun list of design team challenges in 2015.

Take care

Pop up Box

I recently made this pop up box for a work friend who was celebrating her 50th Birthday. Using a sheet of A4 card I scored it into eighths. The embellishments that popup were created with assorted dies and stickers. All visible panels were also decorated card stock.
The card folds flat for postage.

Elizabeth Craft Designs, butterfly dies, flower dies, shimmer sheetz, peel off stickers, microfine glitter, happy birthday die. Gem stones.

I had a great time making this and can easily see the need to make another some time.

Farmer Viv

This is the card that I made for my work friend Viv who has recently retired. Viv and her husband Peter will be spending their time on their hobby farm, with the cows, chickens and crops. This gorgeous couple is a Art Impressions stamp and I have used Karen Burniston designed dies from Elizabeth craft designs to create the popup.

On the front of the card I have also used several dies and stamps.

Happy Retirement

Farewell Janet

Recently I said farewell to a work colleague actually there were two girls leaving having worked together for 23 years, they decided to leave at the same time.
This card is custom made for my friend Janet's personal interests. Over the 11 years I have know her Janet has always been on some sort of diet. Her pet chickens are her pride and joy, I remember her saying once, after sharing a funny story " OMG I even sound like my chickens when I laugh" which set us off on another round of laughter. When I saw this Art Impressions stamp recently I knew I just had to make her a card.

I have used the Lorna label die from Elizabeth craft designs to make the centre of the card popup. The inside has another Art Impressions chicken stamp and text. I have also add some felt clouds.

My sentiment was computer generated and matted using the Katie label die. The chicken wire is a mft die cut onto double sided adhesive sheet to make a sticker.

Take care
