Something New

Good Morning the card I have today is for a challenge that I have with a couple of friends of mine.

The challenge is Something New. I combined some new and old items for my card. The new was Karen Burniston's Cake pop-up dies set and Nuvo glitter drops. The old was the embossing folder, fishtail die, word die, rectangle and oval dies, a border punch and even some old embossing powder.

Thanks for Looking

Having a ball

Welcome to this weeks challenge with the Crazies team.

Did you know that the 25th January is Opposite Day … For our challenge this week make a card/project that has opposites on it. Think opposite colors, on the color wheel, stripes and polka dots, black and white, mirror image, etc.

Stencil and Watercolour

This week's challenge with the CCEE Stampers team is to show us your favorite technique in cardmaking. Maybe it is embossing, fancy folds, paper piecing, multilayered stamping, paper piercing, collage, etc. We will enjoy seeing what you have to offer in fun techniques.

I really don't have a favourite technique but dabble is a few things and enjoy them all, but my go to for a quick card as I am generally time poor, is using a stencil and a sponge for a background and watercolouring with distress inks.

C4C418 January Sketch

Today is a sketch challenge with the crazies team at Crazy4Challenges

I used stitched rectangles to highlight the birthday sentiment from Paper Inspirations and added the MFT dies (retired). I also added nuvo drops to the front of the card and the center of the flower. Inside I used a pop-up die from Kaisercraft and entwined ovals from Elizabeth craft designs.

Winter wear

Hi Everyone,
It is time to join my friends at the CCEE Stampers blog.

" Baby, it's cold outside!!" Use an image showing a winter garment.

I had so much fun creating this card, my goal this year is to experiment with backgrounds, I love what everyone is doing with distress oxides inks, but I am not totally happy with my efforts, so I have just created a background with blending normal distress inks and added a few sprays of water.

Late last year I picked up the creative stamping  magazine issue 50 with this free Hunkydory winter warmers stamp collection. On the front of the card I used the Polar bear with coordinating jumper added the tree and reverse clouds from Karen Burniston dies.

On the inside I had the chance to play with the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside pop up die and used some more images from the stamp set. The trees were die cut in black card and highlighted with a white colouring pencil.

This is my first Lawn Fawn die and I have the accessory dies on my wish list, so until then I thought I would adapt the hillside die as snow drifts. I cut the die twice and glued them down flat and the added them to the card. The sentiment was stamped in black brillance ink and embossed with glitter embossing powder, I then repeated the step to make it pop off the page.

Baby Duckie

Welcome to another Crazy Challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges team.

Apparently today is Rubber Duckie Day … let's celebrate by including a duck or two on our cards this week. Don't have anything duck related what about chickens, geese, turkeys etc.

I needed a baby card this week , with that in mind I chose to use a few peel off stickers and micro fine glitter technique for my card.

High Tea

Welcome to this week's CCEE Stampers challenge.

In honor of "Hot Tea Month",  use a teapot or teacup on your card or use a "tea stain" technique if you like.  Here's a link to how to tea stain your paper:

I found this beautiful designer paper in my supplies and really wanted to showcase it as it reminded my so much of a Wedgwood china tea set. I added a piece to the front and left space for a sentiment or die for when I decide to use the card.

What better way is there to showcase 12 x 12 designer paper than with a pop up card where you can see it all at once. Now this pop-up die is one of my favourites and is now retired but I will still keep using it, especially to create this double platform center pop up.

Tag you're it!

Welcome back to another fun-filled year of Crazy 4 Challenges with the "Crazies"
Frances will be our hostess for January.

Tag You're It! - For our first challenge for the year incorporate a tag or  tags some way in your creation.

Guess what i received for Christmas from a friend, this wonderful tag die set designed by Karen Burniston. I have been a fan of Karen's dies for some time, everybody loves the interactive cards that her dies make and watching her tutorials make it so easy to enjoy these dies.
Since this is my first attempt I chose to follow the instructions closely, and just used these cute Art Impression owls for a quick card. The owls were coloured with copic pens and wink of stella glitter pen on the hats. I have been rearranging some of my craft supplies as some of my items are now coming back in style and came across this white liquid applique pen. You apply the liquid and once it has dries hit it with your heat gun and watch it puff up, so much fun.

Snowflake Penguins

Well it is time to kick off the New year with the CCEE Team. The first month of Challenges are from Liz.

I don't know about you, but I can hardly believe it is already 2018!!!
So the title of this challenge is "Waddle we do in 2018?"   So  the challenge is to use a penguin or you may use any other animal that loves cold weather.

At the end of last year I purchase the papercraft essentials issue 152, luckily it had the snowflake penguins Apple Blossom die set, just perfect for today's challenge.
I die cut the large penguin once in white card and once in black, with double sided tape on the back, I then just placed with white die pieces in the cut out areas. The snow drifts and clouds are made with nature edges dies, I then added glitter glue to the snow drifts. I nested two stitched oval dies together and cut out the frame twice adhering one on top of the other. I then added glitter star stickers randomly.
