Brewed Beer

My Daughter works in a craft beer brew house and one of the customers bought in his sample brew for them to try after work. This is the thank you card we designed together, I know exactly how I wanted the inside of the card to look like but the front was another matter. With Kait's great photoshop skills she created some panels for the card front.

 I have used the Karen Bruniston designed pop n cut coffee mug (from when Karen designed for Sizzix. Karen now designs for Elizabeth craft designs) and changed it into a Beer Mug.

After cutting the mug in brown card I then die cut a mug out of acetate and embossed and attached it to the card. Then cut another mug out of designer paper removing the mug and used the rest of it for a backing sheet.  The foaming bubbles and the sentiment panel were cut with Elizabeth craft design dies.

Bon Voyage

Recently we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, I decided I wanted to do something where I was waited on and just relax, that meant no cooking,cleaning or grocery shopping my husband is just happy taking our caravan on our holidays. My sisters have been talking about cruising for a few years, but I have always been worried as I do get travel sick. So after discussions with family and friends I decide to book our first overseas trip. We had the most wonderful time, I took my medication and was fine my husband was lucky he didn't take any but he was fine also. 

It was a great surprise to come home and find mail from my friend Val. Val loves cruising and she created this wonderful travel pop up card. 

Now I am not sure of her list of supplies but I do know that Val has used the sizzix pop n' cut suitcase insert and base plate designed by Karen Burniston. It is now dis-continued but you may be able to find some still in stores or keep a look out on Karen's blog for any new designs.

I love the way the suitcase opens to reveal the hidden message.

Val also included a special Anniversary card for us.

Butterfly popup

Sometimes when we get caught up with the newest products we neglect some of our older products. The thing I love about Karen Burniston designed products is that they coordinate with her other products.

 For this card I have used the Sizzix base plate [square w/Ornate Edge ] with the butterfly insert [discontinued] but the smaller butterflies are from the Elizabeth Craft Design butterfly accessory die

To create the small butterflies, I have used shimmer sheetz and silk micro fine glitter. For the center of the card I panels cut with Sizzix Bigz die edge and scroll and embossed them with cuttlebug textile embossing folder.

Here is the front of the card taken at a different angle to show the colour of the shimmer sheet.

Coffee with friends

Hello there, 

I have been trying to get some photos of my cards with another camera and I have been having all sorts of problems, I must have taken over 30 photos of the front cover all bad, eventually I took one with my Iphone.

I caught up with friends for a cuppa over the holiday period and did a bit of tidying up the craft room, and I came across this un-inked stamp. So for this card I have used Art Impressions set Girlfriend Blend, designer paper scraps, bakers twine and a button.

 Inside the card I have used the pop n cut mug insert, I then cut out the mug out of designer paper and pieced it onto the insert mug. Then added the movers and shapers heart for the steam and embossed with the corresponding embossing folders on each side and highlighted them with ink.

I am entering this card into the AI challenge 125 - Expect the unexpected

Dress Up Pop n cut

While looking through my card photos for 2013 I discovered a card that I had not shared. Which came in handy because after taking all those card photos over the last few weeks my very first digital camera broke, now when I think back this camera has to be over 15 years old, and only took 2mega pixel photos. So luckily I won't have to rush out for a new one as I am going to try my daughter's old one, once I figure out how to use the software, it take 7.1 mega pixel photos, which I know is not all that brilliant by today's standards.

Now on to the card, this card was my first attempt using the Stampin Up pop n cut platform base die and the dress up framelits set. I didn't feel the need to purchase all the other matching products from stampin up because I felt I could still create a great card using my other pop n cut products, like all the Karen Burniston designed products they all complement each other.

I started with the framelit set All dressed up it comes with 3 different dies, two dresses and a dress stand. I used chocolate chip card for the dress stand and designer paper for each dress. I then glued the sleeveless dress onto the stand for the other dress I cut it to waist length and the cut up the middle to create two pieces and shaped them to look like a jacket attached it and added small gems to look like buttons. I then cut out the base and attached ric rac ribbon and designer paper and  a gem flourish.

 For the inside I used the same designer paper as the front panel and cut out the Funky 3d label insert and matching framelits. the words are from stampin up but I don't keep up with what is discontinued or current. The floral border was created using a Martha Stewart border punch.

I hope you liked looking at this card, I had so much fun creating it.

Xmas deer pop n cut

Another card made with the Sizzix  pop n cut platform, this time I used the designer paper for the outside and cut it to fit the card based insert, adding a Martha Stewart border punched strip to embellish. 

In this photo the trees look like I have use two different inks but I just double stamped without re-inking.The deer and trees are from a stamps and framelits set from Sizzix  and the insert is the sizzix pop n cut magnetic insert 3D label die

Sometimes it is easy to just use the tools that are out on the table, the label dies and stamp are the same as my earlier posts.

Again I have used the Stampavie Laurence collection star gazing stamp, with some other winter stamps. I was going with white snowflakes but because I used textured card the image didn't stamp clear so I then overstamped the snowflakes with a dark blue ink.

Xmas Poinsettia

Hi everyone,

Today I played with my Sizzix pop n cut platform designed by Karen Burniston. I cut out the base card without the insert and used designer paper on the bottom half. I cut out the Poinsettia using the spellbinders die and the border die is from MFT and added some rhinestones.

I then popped in the insert to cut out the designer paper for inside the card and matched it with two parts of the MFT layered treat die and the Hero Art words.

Now lining up the base card with the insert can be rather tricky but if you take your time you can achieve great results. If you are impatient you can cut down either the insert or the base and embellish for a different look.

Christmas Fairy

This cute Fairy is a Mo Manning image created by Penny Black, I coloured her with copic pens. The base card is the sizzix Pop 'n cut square base with ornate edge, these pop n cut card are so much fun to create.

Inside I have the circle insert and matched it with My Favorite things layered treat tag die-namics.  I then used the ornate flourish for embellishments.

Summer Fun

Yeah, Finally I have had time to made a card and up load it, December is the first month of Summer here in Australia, while it has been a mild one so far I am sure it will warm up very soon.

To start, the base card was cut using the sizzix A2 pop n cut base, the background paper is from the surf's up DCWV stack. The image is a Stamping Bella Uptown Girl Sandy and her sombrero, the waves is a memory box die.

 The insert paper is another page from the DCWV stack cut using the circle circle label insert pop n cut. The message is a MFT Stamp and it was layered using the MFT Die-namics Layered treat tag. The finish off the card I added gem stones to look like water droplets.

Go pink for your support

October is one of our biggest charity months, whether it is golf charity days or the biggest morning teas or even just buying a product that has the charity label, everybody tries to do their big to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. 

 I have made a few cards for my Daughter to give to a friend who is hosting a market day.

This card was made using the Sizzix pop n 'cut  square card base and labels are from the sizzix wavy labels set.

 The ribbon and text is from Stampendous and the bra stamp is from Art Impressions, the insert designer paper was cut with the spellbinders borderabilities die.

 This card base was made by using the Sizzix pop n' cut base available from Stampin up.

 Again I have used the spellbinders borderabilities die on the designer paper. The text for this card is one that comes with the bra stamp.

Spring Wedding

I made this card for my Nephew's wedding today. I used the love heart cuttlebug embossing folder and inked it up before embossing for the letterpress look. 

 The base card was made using the sizzix pop n cut platform with the love insert and sizzlit love set.

Today's card was made using the sizzix pop n' cut die with the original insert.

The designer paper is from DCWV, the text from MFT and the bear image is from docrafts forever friends retro collection.

Pop'n Cuts Butterflies

Today I am sharing you a Pop N Cuts card using the new Karen Burniston Journey Collection Pop N Cuts dies recently released by Sizzix. They are just such fun to use and a very quick way to make an amazing card.

 This card was made for a lady that loves leopard print but not necessarily leopards themselves. The paper is from Canvas Corp, I added a gold sticker row on the join and pearls on the butterfly.

When the card is opened the butterflies pop out, it is just magical. The verse is an old one from Print Blocks Australia.

Groovy Day

This designer paper screams the psychedelic era of 60s and 70s, when My Favorite Things released the Doodle Garden Far Out stamp set, I just had to create a card. Lime green and Orange are one of my favourite colour combinations. I also teamed this stamp with other MFT products, the leaf filled flourish, the Upsy daisy and the beautiful bows along with the Martha Stewart border punch.

For the inside I used the sizzix pop n cut die and the sizzix sizzlets hello set. The designer paper I have used is from DCWV cut to 12 x 6 and it was already embossed with gold.

Butterfly Pop n' cut

Here is another Pop n' cut card, using this die cut system is such fun. The large butterfly is a Marianne die, cut, embossed and highlighted with brown ink.

 Inside some fabulous butterfly DCWV designer card finished off with some My Favorite Things die-namics and stamps.

Let's Eat Cake

Have you ever found some scrapbook papers that you just love but once you cut it down to card size it is just ruined. For this card I used the sizzix pop n' cut die the front of the card measures 13.8cm [51/2 "] but it opens up to 27.8cm [11"] nearly a full scrapbook page size.

 The inside turned out just perfect, especially the use of the printed text and cake images.

 Just a closer look for you.

Cherish Anniversary pop n cut

I hope that everyone had a wonderful new years and Welcome to 2013.

I had a chance to play with the sizzix pop n' cuts die that I purchased before Christmas. This is a really quick and fun way to create pop up cards.

You can find several tutorials on which explain how to use the pop n' cuts dies, I found  Karen Burniston tutorials excellent.

 The MFT Vertical Greetings Die-namic fits the couture creations words words words collection set. The flowers were created using a combination of dies and paper flowers.

For the insert text I used My Favorite Things stamp and die-namics. The die-namics match fairly close to the pop up circle label 3-D die
