Stenciled Dahlia

Welcome to my blog, my card for today is a challenge card. Each month I do this challenge with a couple of friends to challenge ourselves to use our supplies.

This month our challenge is Distress inks.

On my last shopping trip I purchased this Altenew Layered Dahlia Stencil A & B  and this Honey Bee die set. While I love what people can do with distress inks and I have watched many tutorials, I am just not happy with the way mine turn out. So I just went with the all time favourite technique sponging and layering the colours. The colours I have used are wild honey and candied apple. I love the way people are mixing dies with sentiment stamp for their cards, I had this 3 tiered stamp from Art Stamps Australia, I cut up the stamp so that I could use each word the way I wanted, but I can just place it back together to use it in the original way.

With love and sprinkles

Karen Aicken is our hostess on Crazy 4 Challenges for February and here is her challenge for the week:  "This is my Birthday Month and I like cake! For your project this week, add a cake, cupcake or other yummy. It doesn’t have to be a birthday card - just show us something delicious."

This is an extra fun challenge for me as February is also my birthday month. It is lovely to receive all the great brithday mail.

For my card I used February's colour amethyst for my card and this Penny Black image, with some nuvo drops in the corners.
Inside I have used three Karen Burniston dies to make the center of this card. The Cupcake pop-up, Katherine Label pop-up, Twist Panel pop-up.
The sentiment and sprinkles are from the concord & 9th sprinkles turnabout clear stamp set.

All you need is Love

This week on Crazy 4 Challenges, Karen Aicken is our Hostess hostess  and this is her challenge for the week:  "Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Make your project reflect love or appreciation. Make a Valentine, Anniversary, Thinking of You or card showing support."

Valentine themed cards always seem to have flowers and a female theme, when I saw this stamp set from Your Next Stamp, I knew I wanted to make a male card. I also used the coffee stains stamp set from Kaisercraft and some aztec themed washi tape.
I heat embossed the sentiment and coffee cups for dimension and popped one cup up with foam tape.

Love

Hello friends!
Welcome to CCEE Stampers challenge, Kelly has issued the challenge this week.

It's almost Valentine's Day, so this week, instead of making  a traditional Valentine's Day card,
we're making cards showing something we love ♥

I love Karen Burniston designs, since I started following Karen, she has worked with different companies so I have used die sets from each, Sizzix, Elizabeth Craft Designs and her own Label Karen Burniston.

My base card is made with the Sizzix Card square w/ornate edge pop up, Pop n cuts insert, Love set.
The flowers and leaves are from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Flower Pot pot stand set. The labels and small blue hearts are from the current Katherine Label pop- up set.
I also added Nuvo drops for flourishes and flower centers. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things set - Flamazing

Chocolate just for you

Welcome to this month's first challenge on Crazy 4 Challenges, our hostess is Karen  and her guest designer is Kristine Reynolds.

Add a heart to your project this week. You can make a Valentine, put a little heart on a critter, make a heart shaped card - just show us a heart!

Chocolates on Valentine's day makes the heart happy.
This Art Impression image is so much fun.

I made my background of hearts by creating a stencil out of a old x-ray film with the background die, which I then applied distress ink using the sponging tool. The x-ray film is very sturdy and easy to clean and able to be reused several times.

Sassy ol' gal

This week on CCEE Stampers blog Kelly has issued the challenge.

Today is National Spunky Old Broads Day!
So, we're making a card using any spunky old gal(s), and I'm sure it will make you smile to see this card line up!

For my card I could't go pass the Art Impressions shake your booty. It has a front and back image which is perfect to use with this pull card die. I added the spring behind the booty so when you open the card it wobbles for a bit on fun. Added the die cut flowers and some Novo drops as embellishments.

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Shake your Booty & random sentiments
Karen Burniston - Rectangle pull card and flowers from the Flower pot pop up ( both retired)
wobble sping, copic pens, distress inks and Nuvo drops
