Embossed Flowers

When I made this card, I was thinking of the blackout embossing technique, however when I was doing some research, I found a site that instead of using the debossed side with black ink, they showed using the embossed side and colouring in the lower area with a black sharpie pen, so that the image really pops out. (This is not my idea, but I wasn't able to find the tutorial of the original idea again.) I embossed the flowers on a pink card and highlighted areas with ink. Then did the black areas and added some gold ink to where the stamens would be for some dimension. This technique should work with any type of embossing folder, but it does look great with the 3D ones.

Baptism Blessing

I had a request to make a card for a Baptism, this is what I came up with. I didn't have any stamps in a religious theme, but I do love this mother and child stamp. I have had it for a long time, it is an unmounted red rubber stamp from a company called Whiff of Joy.
I chose a cream and gold theme and used the embossing folder for the background and then added the die cut frame over gold card stock. I then added the ribbon and leaf die cuts along with the stamped image.
Supplies:
Stamps- Whiff of Joy - Willow with toddler
Creative expressions - Sue Wilson pin-point embossing folder
Elizabeth Craft Designs -1003 leafy branch die
Tonic Studio - Dragonfly delight die set

I made the base card using the Karen Burniston 1007 Charm Accordion die.
I then added the 1113 love Charms for the extra love elements.

Turtle Diamond dot

I am usually card maker, but lately I have lost my creative mojo. I wanted a painting for the guest room, so I thought I would give diamond dot image a go. It was so much fun, and it turned out great. I even found a frame for it that matched the guest room furniture.

Thinking of you Poppies

Today in Australia it is Anzac Day, the day we remember those who lost their lives in war.

I made this card with a watercolour background using a clear block and distress oxide inks. I then stamped the outline of the poppies in black ink. Then filled the flowers with distress ink. I die cut the sentiment 4 times, gluing them together for a stacked sentiment. I added some nuvo drops to finish the card.

Baby Shower

Today I am sharing the card that I made for my daughter's baby shower, and yes, we are expecting a little pink bundle later in the year.
I used this Mo Manning rubber stamp, that I have had for some time, it is a favourite of mine for making baby cards.

Inside I used dies from Karen Burniston, the parcel pop-up and baby charms. As you open the card the charms rise up out of the box as you open it.

Australian Natives

Today I am celebrating Australian Day.

I feel so lucky to live in this country with hot summer days and amazing sunsets and beautiful animals.

I started with the Paper Rose Studio 16685- Stitched Square Frames and placed the 16948- Kangaroo in Forest behind it to create a framed picture. I then used designer paper for the sunset background and layered it onto cardstock.

I am an Australian, I was born in Australia, I live in Australia, therefore I celebrate AUSTRALIA DAY........

Thanks for looking today.

Celebrations

Welcome to another challenge day. Kathleen from Crazy4challenges design team has this last challenge for February.

Today is "Open that Bottle Day".  Who knew there is a day for that!  So this week, let's make a card of celebration!

I made this card for a work colleague who is turning 21 soon.

I finally had the chance to create a billboard pop -up with the surprise ball pop-up from Karen Burniston.

To find out how to created the surprise ball, you card see Karen's video with this link.

I added some glitter to the surprise ball for a disco party theme as party of this stamped trio's celebrations. You can even spin the ball around.

For the front of the card I created a belly band to keep the card closed and just used the die cuts for a simple lead in to the surprise inside.

Your day will be......

This is my card for the CCEE Stampers challenge

Today is Halloween!
Although many celebrate this day with dressing up or finding fun costumes, --  "let's keep it simple and create a card with anything Halloween OR Harvest -- costumes, candies, spooky things, or just use orange and black!

I don't celebrate Halloween as a rule but I had fun making this card with the Lawn Fawn reveal wheel and fortune teller add on.

A Beautiful Mother's day

Mother's Day is this coming Sunday in many parts of the world including the USA, Canada and Australia. Create a card suitable for a mother, it doesn't have to be a Mother's Day card.

For my card I have used the stamp set from Gina K - A Beautiful Life.
I stamped the image onto designer paper and again onto white card stock. I then coloured the flowers and fussy cut them out and mounted them onto the card using foam tape for dimension.
