Citrus Dreams

Welcome to the Challenge with the CCEE Stampers team, the days of the year calendar says it is National Refreshment Day!

One way to beat the heat of summer is with a cold refreshment. Do you cool down with a glass of lemonade, a rainbow snowcone, an ice cream cone, a cold bottle of beer, or something else? Whatever it may be, share with the CCEE Stampers your favorite cool-down treat in your design this week.

Floating in the pool and any drink with lemons and limes is my idea of relaxation perfection. I have always loved lime and soda but since my trip to London last year my favourite drink is Gin & Tonic with lime.

I found this designer paper is my supplies ( love the limes and strawberries) and stamped and coloured house mouse image waiting to be used. I created an easel card with oval dies. The card folds flat for posting.

From the whole zoo

Welcome to this weeks challenge with the CCEE Stampers team, Lynn is our hostess.

Back in the day when I was a young mother, one of the first trips I planned during the summer break from school was a day at the zoo for my son and his cousins. We all loved watching the crazy antics of the animals. This week in honor of zookeepers' week, I am challenging you all to include at least one (more if you want) zoo animal on your card.

Hot Java

Welcome to this weeks challenge with the Crazies team on Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

Make a Shaped card. Anything other than a plain rectangle,
square or circle.

For my shaped card I used the Honey Bee, coffee cup die and Art Impressions stamp - Cathy Caffeine. This coffee cup die is large enough to place a gift card inside.

Layered spotlighting Wetlands

Hello there, it is time for another challenge with the CCEE Stampers team.

July 12 has been declared National Simplicity Day in honor of Henry David Thoreau who was a devoted advocate of living a life of simplicity. So on this lazy day of summer it's time to simplify. My challenge to you is to create a clean and simple one layer card!

I saw this technique some time ago and put it on my to do list. It is called Layered spotlighting, using a single piece of card, some stamps, a die and some sponging and a piece of art is created.

Take a look at Theresa Momber's utube video here.

Gopher a Coffee?

Today I am sharing a card that I made for the challenge that I have going with some friends. Each month our challenge is to make a card with our supplies, June's theme was Coffee.

I recently saw a Jennifer Mcquire's U-tube video tutorial on the inside shadow box card and used it for inspiration for today's card.
I created a coffee cup die for the front of the card using Karen Burniston's coffee cup popup die and trimmed it so that it was just the cup. Decorated it as usual using the other dies is the set. I used the coffee satin stamps for the base card and added the cup and the little Gopher.

On the inside I traced around the coffee cup and fussy cut it out to create the window. I used a stencil for inside the window before creating  the box panel. I added some more stains and the gopher with a coffee cup in his paws.

Flourish windows

Welcome to another month of challenges with crazies team, this month our Hostess is Rebecca.

This week we are going to play with WINDOWS. You can use a window in any form. You can cut a hole in the front of your card to peep into the inside, make a shaker element, use a stamp or die of a window, use a frame to set off your focal point, make a clear card or use acetate or vellum in another way. Fun right? And so many possibilities!

For my card today, I created a z fold card with some peek a boo windows.
I used a small square die cut as my placement template so I could make an even window.

On the left side, I added some designer paper and floral die cuts from Elizabeth Craft Designs and another square in gold card.

I used hero arts leafy flourish on the inside panel.

New pad not impossible

Welcome to a new month of challenges with the CCEE Stampers team, Lynn is our hostess for July.

Suddenly I am seeing the Impossible Card popping up everywhere I turn. This new fun fold is based on a famous card trick so it isn't really all that new! I thought it would be great if the CCEE Stampers put their own "twist" on this design with their creations this week.

I had so much fun making this card, that I will just have to make more in the future.
My daughter recently move into a new apartment so I have used that as inspiration fro this card using the Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome stamps and dies and the stitched wave borders die.
