Gnome it

Today I am playing along with the Crazies on the Crazy4Challenges design team.

Gnomes seem to have become very popular over the past 6 to 12 months with so many fun stamps, dies and papers being released. Create a card today that features a gnome.

I went diving into my paper stash and found this mushroom paper that I just had to use with these cute Gnomes from Your Next Stamp. I have used the Cherry Lynn Designs step card die for my card base. On the inside I have used the Lawn Fawn mushroom border to set the scene.

Napkin Art

Hi Crafting friends,

I am revisiting a technique that I haven't done for many years. I created the card with this background using a serviette.

Our challenge on CCEE Stampers blog was to celebrate World Creativity day with having fun being creative.

I have used Tim Holtz distress oxide collage matt medium to attach the serviette to the card base and left it to dry.
One it dried I stamped a large text background stamp with distress oxide ink and left it to dry while I worked on the embellishment.
I used the Eiffel tower die cut 3 times in black card stock, layering the together, on the final layer I added some gilding wax in bronze to add some aging.
I then heat embossed the Paris text in black and stamped the other in black ink also, onto the serviette background before adding it to the card base.
Finally I attached the Eiffel Tower.

Framed Flowers

Hi Crafting Friends,
Welcome, today is challenge day with the design team on Crazy4Challenges.

Apparently May is Photo month, let's include something that relates to photos this week … a card including a real photo, faux photos, selfie style stamps, cameras etc

I found some designer paper is my supplies from many years ago when photo film strip images were very popular. I have used the photo collage pop-up die set to frame my image and used the border edges and some gem stones for the front of my card.

In the inside I have used the pop-up mechanism with the frame photos.

I added some flower embellishment created with pieces of the pattern plate flowers.

Clawsome

Hi Crafting Friends,
My card today was made for the CCEE Stampers blog challenge.

Mother MAY I?

Create a card based on the popular children’s game featuring children playing or create a card for a child.

I think all children love playing the games in a arcade. I know my girls loved playing in them while on holidays.
For my card I have used the Lawn Fawn clawsome stamp set with some great designer paper.

Triple Matting

Hello Crafting Friends

I made this card using a technique called triple time stamping or seamless tiers. It is something that I used to do many years ago and I thought it was time to revisit it.

I started out creating the background by heat embossing the Mama Elephant cherry blossom stamp set. Then using a die I cut out the center piece and layered it before adding it back to the card covering the die cut panel.

Happy Birthday Friends

Hi Crafting friends,

I thought I would share this card that I made for a friend's birthday awhile ago. I was going to hand deliver it, but that is not possible at the moment and I had to rely on the postal service.

My friend loves pop up cards. I made this using Karen Burniston -1098 photo collage.

Since we couldn't get together for her birthday I added a fun element inside, with some of her favourite  animals in Karen Burniston range.

Blowing wishes

                                                              Hello Crafting friends,
My card today is for the CCEE Stampers blog challenge.

May is Asthma Awareness Month.
Let’s bring the awareness to 339.4 million people worldwide
affected by asthma by creating a card where you need to use your lungs!
Think blowing up a balloon, blowing out birthday candles, a dandelion, a whistle etc

I created my background using Distress Oxide inks, blending them and spritzing the card with water. Once I was happy I die cut the frame, I then die cut the frame in white card and put the dyed pieces inside. I then positioned the stamped images and added the die cut sentiment.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Dandy Day
Uniquely Creative Die - stitched window frame
Sugar Peas designs - sentiment.

Looking out for.......

Hi Crafting Friends

This week on Crazy4Challenges it is a slimline card challenge.

Slimline Cards seem to be very popular at present, especially with a few companies releasing dies that are made to use for creating this style of card. For our challenge this week create a Slimline card. A Slimline card measures either 8 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches or 9 inches x 4 inches and should fit into a standard business sized envelope.

I have made my slimline card into a one-layered card, with stencils. I just adore these cute little Meerkats

Stamps: Gerda Steiner designs - Meerkats on the lookout
My Favorite things - warm and feathered hugs
Stencils - Honey bee - outdoor scene builder.
Inks - Distress oxide

Celebrate Fiesta

                                          Hello Crafting Friends,

My card today is for the CCEE Stampers blog challenge.

  Fiesta like there’s no mañana!
(party like there's no tomorrow!)
Tuesday was Cinco de Mayo, let’s continue the celebration with anything fiesta!
Create a card sing the word fiesta or the colors *red, green and yellow* or piñatas, sombreros, etc.  Feel free to simply create a celebration card in lieu of fiesta if you need to!

I have used Lawn Fawn magic picutre changer die, along with the Mama Elephant Pinata Party stamp set, for a bit of fun on this card.

Since the main elements are on the front of the card I just added some stamped images inside.

Super Flying

Hello Crafting Friends.

It is time to play along with the design team on Crazy4Challenges blog.
This month Frances  is our hostess and we welcome guest designer Lois.

According to the Days of the Year web site, today is Free Comic Book  Day. For our challenge today being inspired by a Comic Book  … maybe create a comic book layout with any theme or create something that might be included in a comic book eg … super heroes.

I created a interactive card using  stamps and dies from My Favorite things. This little super dog swings on clear acetate when you tilt the card. He is the superman of the dog world.
