sending a smile

Yesterday I went to a friends house for our monthly stamping day, but we didn't stamp instead we went shopping at Photo Continental in Brisbane, we made some new purchases, I will share mine later.

Today I received my first 2009 birthday card. It came from Doreen, from Boomerang Stampers List. A wonderful card, gold embossed and coloured in bleach, it is very stunning although it doesn't show up in the photo.

Autumn Medallion

After sweltering in todays heat 36 deg (97F) which felt 10 deg hotter due to high humidty, I spent some time inside with the air-conditioner. I felt it was time for a change in the weather and made this Autumn card for the sketch sc212.
I started by making the medallion by cutting out a 5cm x5cm square of black card, I then punched the corners and turnded them inside out. I them stamped the pampas image with aged mahogany on pumpkin pie card, then punched out the image and layered in onto chocolate card.
The flourishes were stamped with moonlight white on chocolate card and created a the pampas boarder on pumpkin card all layers were matted with black card. To finish the card I used the window punch for the word autumn and layered it with 2 black pieces punched with the window punch and layered to look like one and then added two chocolate brads.
Recipe:
Stamps: Lucy's Stamps - Pampas 1112LC, Impression obession - WR27 Fall, Autumn Leaves - Elegant Flourishes
Paper: pumpkin pie, chocolate chip, black
Other: SU- circle punches, word window punch, EK Sucess - Corner punch, Brillance - Moonlight white, Ranger Tim Holtz - Aged Mahogany

Melanie the shopper

Hi there, I did not manage to get any stamping done today so I thought I would share a card I made last year. Today my daughter and I had shopping day at Harbour Town, it is a discount warehouse shopping district approximately 1hour and 1/2 away from home. This will be our last trip together before she heads over to America to live for 6 months.
I stamped Melanie the shopper in chocolate chip ink and coloured the shopping bags to match the DP. I then punched the corners and sponged the edges with the ink. I layered this onto close to cocoa cut the same size and placed it off centre. I then put it onto chocolate chip the same way and added the brads. I chose two different DP and joined them and attached a ribbon to hide the join. Next I layered it onto close to cocoa card and then onto a folded card of cool Caribbean.
Recipe:
Stamps: Melanie the shopper - Rubber Romance
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Close to cocoa, Cool Caribbean, DP- DCWV prints
Other: Chocolate Chip ink, white and chocolate brads, chocolate ribbon,Tombows,ds tape

Cupcake challenge

I decided to so a card for the cupcake challenge TECC39. I only have small cupcake stamps so, multiple images was the way to go.
I still had my berry bliss designer paper out but this time matched it with purely pomergranate card. ( current in colour for Stampin Up in Australia).
I found the ribbon in a box for rarely used ribbons and found some matching brads if you look close the brad also have glitter on them. I am not sure where they came from but probably from one of my many shopping trips for supplies.
I cut out the cupcakes using my nestablities and attached them with foam tape.
Receipe:
Stamps: Hampton Art cleart stamps
Paper: white, Regal Rose, Purely Pomergranate & Berry Bliss DP - SU
Other: nestabilities small round and scollop, ribbon, brads, ds & foam tape, copics

This is the card I have chosen for my first post to my new blog.

I created this card as a welcome to my great niece. I used the sketch from splitcoast stampers (SCS) TECC51. I use Whipper snapper designs MY844, layered and used my stampin up ticket corner punch on the corners. The image was coloured with copic markers. These are new so I am still expermenting with them. I used an oval punch and round tab punch for the verse. If you look close you can see the cute button brads. The designer paper is berry bliss from stampin up. I also used their chocolate chip and regal rose card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Whipper snapper designs, Fiskars baby clear stamps

Paper: white, chocolate chip, regal rose. DP berry bliss

Other: chocolate chip ink, black ink, ribbon, button brads, ticket corner punch, oval punch, round tab punch, copics, ds tape.
