Skating on thin ice

Welcome to this week's challenge with the crazies team.

This week our challenge is a play on words - Create a card using these words for inspiration "Skating on thin ice"

Today I made a spinner card with this cute Lawn Fawn set, I started with a sky background with distress oxide inks. I used the circle die to cut a window.

I stamped the front a back bear  and fussy cut it out so that they match, there is a die set available for this stamp set just to make things easier, I just don't have it yet. I then attached the bear to the card with a bit of thin string, so that it spin when opened.

I then made some snow drifts for the front and the added an white embossed sentiment and sequins and gem stones.

Supplies:
Stamps: Fawn Lawn Beary happy holidays
Neat & Tangled sequins, gem stones, circle dies and wavy edges distress oxide inks

My Country

Welcome to this week challenge with the CCEE team.

April is National Poetry Month, and today is Poem in Your Pocket Day.  I'm asking that you create a card using a poem as your inspiration.

For my Poem I chose My Country by Dorothea Mackellar.

Undoubtedly it was the few lines in the  second verse that has been my inspiration for this card.

                                                 I love a sunburnt country,
                                                A land of sweeping plains,
                                                Of ragged mountain ranges,
                                                Of droughts and flooding rains

To create by background I have used distress inks. Crushed olive, carved pumpkin, rusty hinge, scattered straw, tumbled glass, shaded lilac, sponged and wiped across the card. The mountains are a mask made with Karen Burniston pop-it western edges (retired). The dies are Paper Roses -  Men sitting on fence, Ultimate crafts - Gum tree and water tank.

Alcohol ink dreams

My card for today is made for a challenge that I do with a couple of friends. Each month we have a challenge to create a card with our supplies.
This month our challenge is to use Alcohol inks.

I created several background pieces on yupo paper, the first time I have used this paper, because when I had used the inks in the past we just had gloss card.

Inspired by the recent views of the Aurora Australis, I used my background behind  the memory box Evergreen window. The sentiment was also cut from the background paper and popped up onto the white card.

For this card I die cut top panel with gold foil card, boy it is just so hard to photograph. I tilted the card for a different angle which shows a bit more of the marbled alcohol ink background.

Supplies:
Ranger Alcohol inks - Limeade, Terracotta, Raspberry, Wild Plum, mixative gold.
Dies: Elizabeth Craft Designs: stitched rectangle, away with words - dream, Couture Creations - wild & free Ekene Tree, Memory box - Everygreen Window. Yupo paper, gold foil card.

C4C431 April Sketch

Welcome to week 3 of this month of challenges with the Crazy team on Crazy 4 Challenges.
Week 3 means it is time for a sketch challenge.

For my card I used stitched square dies on the yellow layer and added the designer paper and completed the paper piercing by hand. I then die cut the word happy and heat embossed the word birthday. It needed something more so I added some Nuvo drops....hmmm I think I need some more practice as my drops were rather chunky.

The extra mile

Welcome to today's challenge with the CCEE Team.

Today is Bicycle Day, so I'm asking you to put a bicycle on your card.  If you don't have a bicycle, use anything with wheels.
Lois had a confession that she didn't learn to ride a bike until she was an adult, well I have a confession too, I never learnt to ride a bike, although I did give it a try as an adult and just found it too difficult about 100metres was as far as I could ride without falling off.

For my card I had this designer paper in my supplies and awhile ago I found this stamp and die set. Because it was hard to attach foam tape to the bicycle, I just used the die and cut out 3 layers of card stock and matched it to the stamped image that was also die cut, glued each layer for a perfect fit.

Supplies- Diamond press -Stamps and Dies , MFT - Mod Square Stax

Buckets of Love

Lois is continuing as hostess for the CCEE Stampers this month. In researching for her challenges Lois found out that April 11 is National Pet day.  Lois asked the team to use a pet (dog, cat, bird, whatever) on their cards.

I love pets it doesn't matter what type. In the past I have owned cats, dogs, birds and fish. We currently have a dog and a bird.

I chose to use this cute Gerda Steiner set for all my stamped images.

Inside I used Karen Burniston's Cupcake pop-up as the platform for the pop up inside the card. This die can be made as a generic platform by just adding any shape to the pop-up part.

Stencils & Dies

Welcome to this weeks challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges team.
This month I am the hostess issuing the challenges, and with my Guest designer Kelly Santi

For my challenge I am asking that you get more out of your dies creating a stencil for your card instead of using it as a die.

I created a stencil using a old x-ray film so that I could get many uses out of it.
Using Versamark ink with the direct to paper technique I applied a heavy layer of ink, I then added pearl embossing powder and heat set it. I die cut the happy and its shadow, The rose was die cut 4 times, 1 in white then sponged with distress inks, 2 in pink, 1 in black they were all glued together in layers for dimension. The birthday was embossed and die cut with a fishtail die.

Supplies:
Dies: Fancy That - Moroccan wallpaper, Penny Black Rose, Honey Bee happy
Embossing powder - pearl, seafoam white, sentiment - Art Stamps Australia, Distress inks - Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, twisted citron, lucky clover.

Keep wishing

On CCEE stampers Lois is our hostess of the challenges for this fun filled month.
Tomorrow is National Tartan Day.  I asked the team members to create a card using plaid.

When I think of Tartan or Plaid, it is always a golf theme. I met my one true love on the golf course 36 years ago, we still love the game and play a couple times a week. To this day we have never had a hole in one, but we keep hoping, maybe I should try wearing two pairs of socks for luck LOL.

For my card I have used Art Impressions stamps and paper pieced his shirt and cap with the background plaid paper.
