Music Month

This is my card for challenge CCEE2139 on the CCEE Stampers Blog.

September is also Classical Music Month. Create a card with a musical theme. It doesn’t have to be classical music. It could be Jazz, Country, Rock ‘n Roll – anything musical, even a musical instrument.

I have created my scene with dies  and the little music critters.

Serendipity monochrome

Our challenge on the Crazy4Challenges blog is to create a monochrome card - any color!

For my card I used a technique that I had learnt many years ago called serendipity. Over a piece of cardstock you glue pieces of torn paper of different textures, adding heat embossing and glitter as you go. Normally you would just cut up the panel and re-arrange it for a background, but since then, dies have come of age so I have used a background die to cut up the card panel, re-arranging the pieces.

I then added the die cut flowers and leaves and the sentiment and some pearls.

Die cut blooms

Today is sketch challenge day on Crazy4Challenges blog.

I had this sheet of die cut paper toil panels that I picked up from a discount store sometime ago in my supplies. I thought it was about time that I used them. The card is a bit bigger that normal so it would be mailed for double postage.

I added the sentiments in die-cut circles to match the sketch.

Magic Mushroom

Welcome to this week's challenge CCEE2137 on CCEE Stampers Blog.

September is also National Mushroom Month. An Easy challenge: include a mushroom on your card.

I started my card with heat embossing the mushrooms and stamping the fairy. I used the stencil and ink to create the background. I die cut the rectangle of the image and adding it a piece of foam and mounting it onto a die-cut panel.

Supplies
Lavinia Stencil flourish, meadow mushroom, three dancing fairies, inks - Sahara & Mermaid and memento black.
Karen Burniston crosshatch rectangle die

Tower Pinwheel

Today on the CCEE Stampers Blog the design team are celebrating Swap Ideas Day.

Tomorrow (9/10) is Swap Ideas Day. For today’s challenge, find a card you have seen using a new technique to you, or a new color combination, or anything you’ve never done before and make a card. Be sure to credit the person whose idea you have used.

For the swap ideas card I chose the Tower Pinwheel card that I had seen recently. I have since discovered that there are different ways to fold the card. I made my card by scoring the base card to create the box and 1 arm and then I added the other arms.

The card is sized to fit a stitched rectangle die that I have used to cut out the designer paper background.

I have used dies to decorate some pages

And stamps on other pages.

The top view of the pinwheel, it folds flat for postage.

The inspiration for this card came from Karen Aicken. Karen posted her card on her blog Painted Mountain Cards in August.

Supplies:
Karen Burniston - 1143 Holiday Charms, 1177 Merry Christmas Shadow, 1065 Merry Christmas
My Favorite Things - Stamps - Secret Santa

Sapphire Birthday blue

Today the on Crazy4Challenges Blog. Hostess Karen has issued us this challenge.

September is my birth month. To start my birthday month celebration, make a birthday card with some dark blue - as my birthstone is the sapphire

I have made my card with designer paper, often in the paper packs there are decorated sentiment pieces that you can cut out.

I used the Rockin Rectangle die to make the card base. The front of the card is clear using a piece of acetate so that you can see the designer panel.

When you open the card the mechanism pops out the panel.

Supplies:
Karen Burniston - Rockin Rectangle pop up
American Crafts designer paper pack- patio party

Honey bees

Today is challenge 2135 on the CCEE Stampers Blog.

September is Honey Month. For our challenge this week, include something related to honey on your card – bees, honeycombs, beehives.

My card today has been made purely with designer paper from the DCWV water color garden paper stack.
I made the front of the card a fold back so that the double- sided paper would be highlighted. I then found a little sticker bee and added it to the bee hive.
