Let there be light

Hi Everyone,
It is challenge time with my friends on the CCEE stampers blog, this month it is my turn as hostess.

Recently I had holidays at the beach and saw some beautiful lighthouses along the coast, so I am asking you to let there be light and add a lighthouse to your card.

While at my favourite craft store I found this  beautiful designer paper. Sadly the shop is loosing it's bricks and mortar store and converting to on line only, I don't think I will find these gems on a online store.
On to my card I made a pop up card using Karen Burniston dies designed for Elizabeth Craft Designs.
I used the pop up part of the Barrel of pops set and created two pops and sponged the edges before attaching the designer paper to the base card. I then attached one panel of beach edges which was sponged with distress inks to the pops. Then did another panel of beach edges and attached them with foam dots, the lighthouse was then attached in between the layers.

To create the lighthouse I cut base out of white, a top panel in red and one in silver shimmer sheetz, on the red and shimmer sheetz I added double sided adhesive tape before die cutting to create a sticker. I then added the outline of the shimmer sheetz piece to the white base and chose pieces of the red and placed them inside the silver. I then aged the lighthouse with distress ink and the light was coloured with copic pens.

I made another lighthouse for the front of the card and used an oval die and sponging to highlight the sentiment.

Here is a close up of the inside sentiment, it is such a beautiful saying and do you like how dark it is? I managed to apply layer of black ink upon layer to get a deep dark black by using my Misti, I think it is going to be a very useful tool.

  1. REally love the paper you used. It is sad that our brick and mortal shops are forgoing the overhead of rent and turning to the internet. Understandable, but such a loss for those of us who love to see those papers and feel them as real items in our hands before buying.
