Inlaid diecuts

Today on CCEE Stampers hostess Sabrina asks us to try inlaid diecuts technique.
You can find a tutorial on this technique here.

I still had this tag die on my desk when it was time for this challenge. Next week it will be Autumn here I decided to go with a leaf theme. I cut coloured card with the leaf dies I wanted and embossed them. I then cut the tag out of designer paper. After choosing the way I wanted the leaves to look, I then took the die that would appear on the bottom and cut out the leaf. Then placed the previously cut out leaf  and taped it on the back to hold it in place. Facing the front again I then cut out the second leaf and the replaced it with the coloured one and so on with the pine cones and happy birthday die and filled in the top of the tag die with black card. Before matting it and adding the wool threads.
This is a fun technique and it really looks harder that it was.

Have a great day

  2. Great job with the inlaid die technique, Maryann. I like that tag with all its autumn elements -- particularly the acorns.

  4. You really went the whole way with the challenge this week, even inlaying the sentiment! Those leaves look great, but I also really like the fanlight effect at the top of the tag, it reminds me of the Georgian doors in Dublin. Funny to think of it being Autumn in the southern hemisphere, I was just noticing all the signs of Spring today as I walked up to my aunt's house.
