Here's to you

Hello,
Todays card was made for my friend's daughter, who is leaving Australia to live in London. I have used My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch challenge MFTWSC9 for this layout.
I started by stamping the A'la Modes Image, coloured her and cut it out with nestibilities and sponged it while it was still in the die. To add some bling to the dress, wine glass and shoes, I used a glue pen and glitter.
Supplies:
Stamps: MFT A"la Modes - Cheers
Paper: Shades of pink & white card, DP - Papermania
Other: Ribbon, brad, scallop & oval punch, sponge, glitter, glue pen, copics, adirondak ink - watermelon, brilliance ink - pearlescent coral, black ink, nestabilities - Label 10.

Have a great day
Hugs

Gone fishing

This like like a blast from the past, I had seen this sketch somewhere in my files and when I looked up the link it was from Taylored Expressions back in April 2009.

I made this for my Brother in Law who is always off fishing, sometimes in dams where the only thing you can see is dead trees and water, relying on a gps to get him back home. I used the embossing folder to give the feeling of sticks all around. I hope he manages to catch something and have lots of fun.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampavie

Paper: Designer paper, green, tan and light blue card

Other: embossing folder, copic, nestabilities, paper piercer and mat, brads

Engagement congratulations

This Saturday I am going to an engagement party, it is themed black and white. I used MFT Wednesday sketch for my layout inspiration, and flipped it on its side. I coloured the "a'la mode" image with copics and cut it out with nestabilities. The designer paper was matted with black on white and then black on white base card, with a little bling on the corners. After assembling the card I used kindy glitz to add bling to the diamond.
I also used the mft die to make the scallops at the base.

supplies:
Paper: Designer paper - Cre8tiv Silhouette stack, white & black card
Other: francheville ribbon, flower, nestabilities oval & scallop, rhinestone brad, small rhinestones , kindy glitz

Blogoversary

Wow Today is my 2nd Blogoversary, where have those two years gone. I would like to thank everyone who has looked at my blog and those who have made a comment. I love looking at other blogs and I realise mine is very basic, but I am learning all the time. I have a goal for this year and that is to make more time for cardmaking as I noticed that the number I made last year is quite a few less than the previous year. I don't even have a card to share with you so that is not really a good start for the year, but today I received a parcel from MFT so I will play with them soon.
Take Care and thanks for looking

QLD Flood

Happy New Year and it is not happy for some.
I have made a few cards and will post them at a later date, but I have had other things happening on around here.
The start of 2001 has been a very went one. At the start of the year most of the State of Queensland Australia has been covered in flood water. Devestating floods have been in the north, central, west and now the south east. I have been very lucky not to be caught in the flood area, but friends have and I have been helping them clean up. I thought I would share some photos of my home town with you.
Looking down the main street towards the central business district
Looking from the other side of the main street out of town

Somewhere under all that water is the bridge to the west side of town
The water has now receded and an army of volunteers from all over the country have turned up lend a hand, it has just been amazing.
Take care
