This card is called a Stadium wave or just wave card. As you open and close it, it resembles a crowd wave at a Stadium.
I found several tutorials for this card, I changed my measurements to suit, the Australian measurements, but the basic principle of the wave is the same regardless of the card size.
Measurements
I have kept the measurements in inches.
Card base 11 x 4 1/4 inches, fold in half and score at 5 1/4" from each end. Which will make a book cover fold so that the wave can fit inside. Make matt layers for the front and 2 inside panels.
For the wave I have used heavy designer paper but you could use light weight card.
wave measurements
6 x 7 3/4 inches
along 7 3/4" side score at 3, 3 3/4, 4 1/2, 7 1/2 then on the 6" side cut 6, 1" strips.
Reinforce the score lines, fold and glue the top 1/4" so that you have what looks like a W. Glue the 6 pieces together, overlapping each piece by 1/2" so that it looks like a wave.
Make the card base and attach the wave pieces into the center, of the card so that it cannot be seen outside the folded card.
I attached the butterflies, so that they appear to be in flight as the card is opened.
Have fun, Thanks for looking.
