I love the look of inlaid die cutting using alphabet or word dies over a design on a card which is becoming popularly known as the Eclipse Technique. 

You will find lots of inspiration on Pinterest using this technique here.

What a fun technique this is, I had a leftover stencil background from another challenge, that I wasn't really sure how to use. I only have a small set of letter dies and they look rather odd on the card so I filled in the card with some flower and leaves dies from Elizabeth Craft designs.
