C4C331 Textured background

Challenge day with the team from Crazy 4 Challenges and Rebecca has a fun challenge for us to try.

This week, lets get brave and try a new technique. Apply any type of paint, embossing or modeling paste or liquid medium (like gel medium or gesso) through a stencil and while you medium is still wet, apply some glitter! Using a wet medium has the happy side effect off keeping more of your lovely glitter in place and far less of it where you don't want it! Try white on white for a lovely tone-on-tone effect or jazz it up with more than one colour of glitter. Use this as a focal or as a background. I can't wait to see your creations!

For my background I used a sponge blending tool to apply abandoned coral and picked raspberry in random spot blending as I went. I then sponged a layer of wilted violet through the scribbles stencil. Then I added a layer of inka gold paste through the flourish stencil and while it was wet I added silver micro fine glitter.

I applied the Elizabeth craft designs dragonflies stickers to adhesive glitter foil which I had applied to white card and coloured them with sukura glaze pens. The dragonflies where attached with foam tape and a die cut Happy Birthday finishes the card.

Supplies:
Distressed inks - abandoned coral, wilted violet, picked raspberry
Tim Holtz stencils - Flourish, Scribbles
Elizabeth Craft Designs - peel off stickers, micro fine glitter, happy birthday die.
Viva inka gold texture paste, sukura glaze pens, foam tape, sponge blending tool, adhesive glitter foil.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
