Glitter and Sparkles

The other day I was asked if I had a card for a sweet 16th, all my cards didn't suit so I made another one using the oval accordion die and peel off sticker from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I created the sticker using the micro fine glitter technique. Down in the right had corner I added a flower made with shimmer sheetz base and glitter  overlay, coloured with copic pens and added a store bought embellishment in the centre.

Here is the card opened with the true colours that I have used, I am not sure I like the light changes when I take the photos.

On the back of the card I have covered up the seam with some Happy Birthday washi tape.

Have a great day

Inlaid diecuts

Today on CCEE Stampers hostess Sabrina asks us to try inlaid diecuts technique.
You can find a tutorial on this technique here.

I still had this tag die on my desk when it was time for this challenge. Next week it will be Autumn here I decided to go with a leaf theme. I cut coloured card with the leaf dies I wanted and embossed them. I then cut the tag out of designer paper. After choosing the way I wanted the leaves to look, I then took the die that would appear on the bottom and cut out the leaf. Then placed the previously cut out leaf  and taped it on the back to hold it in place. Facing the front again I then cut out the second leaf and the replaced it with the coloured one and so on with the pine cones and happy birthday die and filled in the top of the tag die with black card. Before matting it and adding the wool threads.
This is a fun technique and it really looks harder that it was.

Paradise Found

The Boomerang Special Sister Challenge for March was a beach theme.
I have used the MFT palm tree die and turned it into a sticker for the front of this card.

The DCWV designer paper is just fabulous for this theme. I love this combi bus from Kaiser craft it reminds me of the mystery machine from Scooby Doo Cartoons. I have teamed it with the lots of pops die, poles, clouds and oval dies designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs

Supplies:
Stamps, Kaiser Craft, My Favorite Things, Verses

Ooh La La class

I recently had the chance to join a card class with Frances Byrne aka Stampowl a  Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston pop its challenge design team member at our favourite craft store Craft Giraffe previously know as Photo Contential.'s craft section.

For the card front we used the Paris edges

and in the center the Eiffel Tower Pop stand with another die from the Paris edges set.

Frances was kind enough to pose for this photo.

Merci beaucoup Frances

It was a great class

Moonstruck

For our challenge 1508 on CCEE Stampers this week Sabrina has another bit of Trivia.
Interestingly, because February is a short month, there can actually be years in which there is no full moon at all. The last time this happened was 1999, the next time will be 2018. So while this is not one of those years - feature the moon on your cards.

I have used a wood mounted stamp that is years old, it is great for creating scenes, using gloss card, I stamped the images with black ink. Punched a circle and masked the area and added the ink sponging it in layers until I created the desired effect. I would have liked the sky a bit darker but I think I may need another distress colour in my supplies for that.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp it Reflection pool, Sentiment Taylored expressions, stampscapes - branches
Distressed inks, sponging tool, cloud stencil

You can find the challenge creations on the CCEE Stampers blog. Add your creation there and link it back to your site, so that we can see.

Cheers

FGM Tags

Today is the day I get together with my friends Frances and Gai  and our first FGM challenge for 2015. Our challenge was to use the Elizabeth Craft Designs tag die.
I started with the daisy oval peel off sticker, I used the microfine glitter & copic pen technique, you can watch Els teach this technique here. Using the an oval die from the accordion oval set to cut out the sticker it fits over the sticker perfectly. I then cut tag out of designer paper and using the oval again I cut out a hole before matting it onto black card. I then inlaid the daisy sticker piece. The reinforce hole piece comes in the tags set and the Happy Birthday is a stand up helper die.

Pearls

It is time to create with my friends on CCEE Stampers and Hostess Sabrina has challenges us to use pearls.
The Finnish for February is “helmiku”, which means “month of the pearl”. Snow melting on twigs and refreezing as drops has a pearl-like look.
I am not sure but I think my stamped image is a cling stamp from Hero Arts. ( It was no longer in its packaging.) The image was stamped and embossed and coloured with pearlescent paint. It was layered onto pearl card and finished with some black adhesive pearls.
Supplies:
LuminArte Paint, DCWV Latte Stack, Embossing powder, Distressed ink, Black Pearls, Martha Stewart border punch

If you want to join us, just upload your card to CCEE Stampers blog and link your card so that we can all see it.

Have a great day

Queen for a day

Hello Everybody,
This week on CCEE Stampers our Hostess is Sabrina for the month of February. Sabrina has some wonderful challenges in store for us, starting with some trivia. February 6th 1952 was the day Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne. Please make a card featuring crowns or “royal” images.
Now I didn't have any crowns or royals but this couple look very regal and I just love this verse so I hope this meets our CCEE 1506 challenge.

Supplies:
Cheery Lynn center step die, Sentiment Urban stamps Art Deco Charleston, washi tape, spellbinders die, copic pens.

Cheers
