Matt's Wallet

Hi there,
At last I have finally managed to get to post on my blog. Where has a month gone, this time last month my Hubby were busy packing the caravan to do the gray nomad thing ( without the gray hair anyway) We had a great time playing 7 different golf courses in Northern NSW. Back home and its one day to unpack before its back to work.
Then is oh no!!!! I need a teenage/young adult boy birthday card, thank god for the internet, making male card is not a favourite of mine. Lucky I found some samples on splitcoast stampers, I decided to go with the wallet card some other cards can be found here.
I looked at my husbands wallet to get the measurements and cut chocolate chip card to size.
I used the cuttlebug embossing folder to give close to cocoa the look of snakeskin, I then used a sponging block to highlight the raised areas with chocolate ink. I rounded the corners with my scissors because I couldn't find my corner punch. Just add brads and a stamped image and the card is ready for money and a hidden message.

Stamps: Hanna stamps
Paper: Stampin up: chocolate chip, close to cocoa, very vanilla
Other: brads, sponging block, ribbbon

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads in Australia.
I think my Hubby had a good day, our daughter remembered and rang from America, they celebrated fathers day earlier this year over there.
We spent the day, with the first of many BBQs' that we will have over the summer, my dear hubby loves his outdoor cooking appliance. What better stamp set to use, than Who's that grilling guy? from MFT. This is the first time I have used this set, so not only did I make a card for my Girl's father, I also made one for my youngest daughter's boyfriend's father. This is the card that Kait chose for her Dad.
It was fairly simple to make, except I couldn't get my steak to look real enough, in the end I inked it in red ink and then re-inked in chocolate chip and coloured the bone with my copics. I paper pieced the apron and coloured the image with my copics. I went I little way back into the files at SCS to find the master list of past sketches and used MFTSC31.
This is the card that she chose for Adam's Dad. The closest I could get to this sketch is MFTSC89, I made this card at 4am this morning and wasn't really following any sketches. I had so many things on my mind and couldn't sleep, thought I would try to relax with some stamping, and was pretty happy with the way they turned out.
Stamps: MFT- Who's that grilling guy?
Paper: Black, red, white cs, stock dp.
Other: nestibilites, copics, scallop & oval punch SU, cuttlebug folder tiny mosaic, paper piercing mat & tool, brads, ribbon - SU, ds tape.

Have a great day.

It's a jungle out there

Today's card was made for MFTMFC13 on scs, for this challenge we had to use new stamps that had not seen any ink. This was easy to do as I have a few of them, the particular set I have used I have been saving for just the right DP. I purchase the ribbon some time ago, thinking it looked just like a zebra. The other day a shopping I found this paper stack at my local Kmart store, it was just perfect. It has several rows of zebras with one row in foil.
Stamps: It's a jungle out there - MFT
Card:Black, white, old olive, DP Silhouette foil & glitter cs - Cre8tive
Other: grass punch, ribbon, nestabilities, brads, copics, border scallop punch, ds tape.

Yeah, My new stamps have arrived and what better time to use them than a sketch challenge. This is the first time that I have ordered My Favorite Things stamps from overseas, when my friend told me that my long wanted set winter blast was in the bubble bin, I just had to give it a go. Not that I have used the set today as I just had to order some others that were on the wish list also.
Todays sketch is MFTSC96 over in MFT stamps member forum of SCS. I went with strawberry, chocolate and vanilla colour theme. I also added paper piercing to the corner of my image and to the top of my card.
