Let's Eat Cake

Have you ever found some scrapbook papers that you just love but once you cut it down to card size it is just ruined. For this card I used the sizzix pop n' cut die the front of the card measures 13.8cm [51/2 "] but it opens up to 27.8cm [11"] nearly a full scrapbook page size.

The inside turned out just perfect, especially the use of the printed text and cake images.
Just a closer look for you.
Supplies
Stamps: Rubber Romance, MFT
Paper: Papermaina the little cake shoppe stack, DCVW stack
Other: MFT Die-namics, nestabilities, self adhesive lace border, copic pens

I found this card sample on pinterest followed the link and found the card on splitcoast stampers. Here in Australia the hungry Caterpillar is the lastest in fashion for babies from clothing to accessories. My daughter loves it and buys things for friends. When it came to creating and get well card for her I couldn't resist this one.

Sunshine Flowers

Today is the last day of summer and what a summer it has been. Never in my life has the words of
Dorothea MacKellar's Poem "My Country" meant so much to me.

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.

Two years ago after years of drought much of my state was in floods and then last month more floods and in some areas it was worse that the last one and then last week more rain and the same people were flooded yet again, my heart goes out to all those people affected.

For this card I used bright and cheerful colours and a fun Penny Black hedgehog tossing flowers. I have used spellbinder, MFT and Cherry Lynn dies and a touch of bling to complete the card.

Cherish Anniversary pop n cut

I hope that everyone had a wonderful new years and Welcome to 2013.
I had a chance to play with the sizzix pop n' cuts die that I purchased before Christmas. This is a really quick and fun way to create pop up cards.
You can find several tutorials on which explain how to use the pop n' cuts dies, I found  Karen Burniston tutorials excellent.
The MFT Vertical Greetings Die-namic fits the couture creations words words words collection set. The flowers were created using a combination of dies and paper flowers.
For the insert text I used My Favorite Things stamp and die-namics. The die-namics match fairly close to the pop up circle label 3-D die

Favourite 5 of 2012

Today is the last day of 2012 and it is fun to look back on the past year of creating. It certainly looks like I have been in party mode with the several 21st and engagement cards that I have made this year.
This first one is made with a free stamp that was on a magazine.
This one is made with a circle flit it die from sizzix.
                                                                     Posted in April

I love the vintage look of this one posted in February.
This one was made in March
                                                        Lastly one made in December

Here's to hope for a more creative 2013 and I hope everyone has a safe and happy year.

Xmas Acetate

Here is one of Christmas cards that I made for this year.
On the base card I used a border punch and folded it over and finished the rest of the card with acetate. I die cut the trees twice, one for each side of the acetate and added glitter.
I finished it off with string, button and a snowflake punch.
The image inside can easily be seen through the acetate.
Supplies:
Stamps: Heroarts
Paper: white and green card stock
Other: Martha Stewart border punch and snowflake punch, Tim Holtz sizzix tree line die, string, button glitter.

Twisted Gift Card

I hope that everyone had a wonder Christmas and a cherished time with family and friends. I have had a busy morning, all the Christmas decorations and crockery are packed and boxed ready for next year. I have some time along here before I head out to the boxing day sales so I thought I would share with you this gift card that I made.

Earlier this year I learnt how to make this twisted gift card holder. Using a strip of card with just a the right fold was quick and easy to make at the last minute.
Using red, black and white for a male theme and kept the embellishments simple.
The trees were die cut and embossed before adding a snow marker.{liquid ink after it has dried and heated with a heat gun it puffs up to look like snow}. I also added some the the punched snowflake in the top corner.
Inside is the perfect pocket to add the gift card.

Supplies:
Stamps: CBG 2011
Paper: Kaiser craft shaken not stirred collection
Other: Brilliance ink, craft concepts embossing folder leafy flourish, MFT die-namics layered label die, sizzix Tim Holtz tree line die, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, Marvy snow marker

Happy Birthday

Summer is well and truly summer here in Queensland and many of our flowers are in bloom.
For this card I used the MFT hibiscus and fancy flourish die-namic to create the flower. The stamp is the free on that I received last month. The papers are from DCWV citrus stack and is one of my favourites, although I have used the red card the photo shows up a bit pink.

I even splashed out and created something for the inside of the card using MFT layered label die-namic.

I started out using a MFT sketch but altered it to fit the stamp used.
Inspiration : MFTWSC101

Supplies:
Stamps: Papermania strictly party stamp, MFT Big Greetings
Paper: DCWV citrus paper stack, cream card stock
Other: Oval & oval scallop nestabilities, hot glue, copic pens, MFT die-namics, forever in time glitter gems
