Memories from the past

I am still recovering from surgery, although I am slowly getting better I haven't been able to get any new cards made. I have managed some time at the computer tiding up some files, I came across this card that I created several years ago. Let see if I can remember how I made it as it was created well before I kept any record other than photos and I certainly didn't have a blog.
If you have been stamping for some time you will remember when the photo stamps were all the rage plus that fact just about every card had threads or fibres on it.
Ok to start with the background, we didn't use designer paper then it was all hand created. I started with stamping the seashells with embossing ink on white card and clear embossed them. Then added colours with ink and a shaving brush. Then added the black text, polishing the card with a tissue as I went. The three beauties were stamped on cream card with adirondack raisen ink, the images were then traced from a shipping tag cut out and matted ( no dies or  die cutting machine for us) The fibres were then added before attaching them to the card with dimensional tape. I then added dimensional magic around the tags and added shell beads and micro beads. The stamps are unmounted rubber a large set called bathing beauties but I can't at this time remember the company.

Admendment: Oh I just recieved an email from a friend, the stamp set is from Oxford Impressions Bathing Beauties, it doesn't look like they have this set anymore but the still have lots of nice sets.
I knew I should have called a friend, they always have the right answers thanks Gai.

Welcome to 2012

Happy New year to everyone. I hope you had fun at your New year Celebrations and best wishes for a safe and Happy 2012.
I thought I would start this year with a look at last years top 5 cards, they are in no particular order.
I created this one in October, tired sponging with my nestabilites dies in place.

I made this one for my great Niece's Christening, this cute image is from The Greeting Farm.

I made this just last month for my Daughter's 21st birthday.

This image is from Stamp it Australia, sponging is great for a aged effect.

I couldn't go pass a Penny Black image and I live the bright colours for this spring card.
Thanks to Debby from A Scrap journey for the inspiration to look at my past cards. I had a fun  and it makes me enjoy my art work just that little bit longer although it can be difficult to choose just the five.
Take care

My Favourite Five Christmas cards for 2011

Choosing my top Favourite five Christmas cards this year wasn't a difficult task seeing as I only made 7 different designs. I had to keep it simple as I had busy last few months  and then had surgery two weeks ago, I have just managed to sit at the computer for a short time and have yet to be able to get any stamping done. Perhaps this week.
The oval gate fold I love this design and it only takes alittle more effort that a usual folded card for a stunning look.
This card was my first venture with sewing machine on my card.

My first use of the hero arts stamp and die sets works perfectly with Paper Pretties image
Gotta love those stampabilites bunnies
Certainly can't go pass Penny Black critters for a favoutie card.

I think cute cards were definitely the theme for 2011
I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful Christmas

Oval Gate fold

I had so much fun creating this card after watching the video tutorial on Dawns Stamping Studio
The front stamp is from Magenta. I made the flower using the spellbinders poinsetta die, I placed pearls in the centre and on the bottom corner.
The ovals were cutout using nestabilites oval dies.
the stamp inside is from papermania.

Happy 21st Kait

Today's card is for my Darling Baby girl who turns 21 today, Kait put in her request a pop up card, so I had to put on my thinking cap. While I was thinking my Friend Frances posted a waving pop up on her blog and the timing was just perfect.
I thought this MFT stamp would work just great, stamped the image and paper pieced the dress using copics for the shading. Since I wasn't posting this card I wanted to add flowers and I guess I went alittle crazy it just kept growing.

As you can see the flowers on the inside is the reason for the ones on the front. It is great the way they just pop up when you open the card. This Mft stamp set was the one I was going to originally use, I was gald to be able to put it in there too. I coloured the image and cut it out and then used plaid glass finish on the wine glass.

This is another veiw of the opened card with the waving flowers.

Supplies:
Stamps: My Favorite things " A'la mode sets"
Paper: black, white, red card, DP- DCWV La creme stack & glitter stack
Other: MFT mini rolled roses die-namic, oval and scallop punch, leaf punch, sizzix swirls die, ribbon flowers pearls, acetate, nestabilities, Plaid glass finish,
