C4C338 Thankyou

Hello Everyone,

Barbara is back as hostess for the last challenge of May on the Crazy for Challenges.

The end of May signals the end of the school year in the US. Let's make a teacher thank you card this week. If you don't have a use for a teacher thank you card feel free to make a generic thank you card instead.

I decided  to make a general thank you card. A while ago I purchased this Tattered Lace die set, I usually make a square step card so it was fun to make this circle card.

The card folds nice and flat for postage although it is a large size envelope.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampendous - tea cup, Penny Black - senntiment
Tattered Lace - circle stepper die, spellbinders circles, copic pens.

Specially for you

Hi Everyone,
It is Challenge time with my friends on the CCEE Stampers blog and this is my last Challenge as hostess for May, according to the National date calendar today is National Blueberry Cheesecake day, so with this in mind for inspiration create your card.

My daughter makes the most amazing cheesecakes, although they seem to have more of a chocolate theme than blueberries.
I chose this House Mouse image from Stampendous for my card, as fresh blueberries never last long enough in our house to make into a cheesecake.

C4C337 May Sketch

It is time to join my friends for the  sketch challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.

For my card I used this cute Mo Manning designed stamp from Penny Black, I found this wonderful designer paper that I wanted to use. The trick was to use it in the sketch without hiding it, I decided to use the Quietfire word celebrate from Elizabeth Craft designs. The sentiment is from Art Impressions set - turtle stackers.

Thinking of you

This week I got together with a couple of friends, when we meet each month we shop at our favourite craft store and challenge ourselves to use our new purchases, this month it was Memory Box Clara corner die.
Using the white card I cut and embossed the corner die and trimed around the inside edge, next I cut the die in the blue card and layered the white over the top to create a shadow layer.

CCEE1620 Four way card

Hello
It is challenge time with my friends on the CCEE stampers blog. I am continuing with this weeks challenge, I went looking for  tutorial ideas and found this one on splitcoast stampers on making a four way card.

To decorate my cards I went with Penny Black stamps and  dies from spellbinders and a MFT flourish.

C4C336 white flowers

Challenge day on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, with hostess Barbara continuing her May themes.

May's flower of the month is lily of the valley, typically white. This week's challenge is to use a white flower on your card. If you have a lily of the valley stamp, by all means use it, but as long as your flower is white, it's all good!

I didn't have a Lily of the valley flower, but my daughters' gave me a bouquet of daisies for Mother's day, so that is my inspiration today.

I used the Penny Black Daisy die and spellbinders nestabilities ovals for my focal point and cut the Suzanne Cannon Quietfire design words from Elizabeth Craft designs in silver shimmer sheetz and once in black for a shadow.

I had the most difficult time taking a photo of the card, the shimmer sheetz just kept reflecting the base card. The one in the middle was probably the closest to the finished card but I had to lay the card down so it is not perfect.

CCEE1619 get well and add purple

Hi everyone,
It is challenge day with my friends on the CCEE blog, this month I am hostess and this is my challenge for this week.

According to the National calendar today is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
It is a chronic disease that I have, it is often called the invisible disease because you don't look ill, there is no cure but maybe some day they will be. So Please make a Get Well card and add a purple ribbon.

My images are from a Kanban clear set, I have used a copic pen to colour a white ribbon to match my card stock.

Each year on May 12, millions of people observe National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.  This day shares the spotlight with other May 12 awareness days such as International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases or International Awareness Day for MCS, ME/CFS and FM, which are observed globally.

Toadally awesome

It is time for a new month of challenges with Barbara as hostess on Crazy 4 Challenges.

Since May is my birth month, and the emerald is May's gem stone, let's use emerald on our cards or projects this week. Anything else goes, as long as you use emerald green somewhere.

This month we welcome Wanda Cullen of Cullen-ary Creations as our Guest Designer.

Today I created a center step card using the Cheery Lynn die. This is the perfect challenge for me, I love the colour green in all its shades. Thinking of green I couldn't go past the  Fiddle'n Frog from Heartfelt creations.

Let there be light

Hi Everyone,
It is challenge time with my friends on the CCEE stampers blog, this month it is my turn as hostess.

Recently I had holidays at the beach and saw some beautiful lighthouses along the coast, so I am asking you to let there be light and add a lighthouse to your card.

While at my favourite craft store I found this  beautiful designer paper. Sadly the shop is loosing it's bricks and mortar store and converting to on line only, I don't think I will find these gems on a online store.
On to my card I made a pop up card using Karen Burniston dies designed for Elizabeth Craft Designs.
I used the pop up part of the Barrel of pops set and created two pops and sponged the edges before attaching the designer paper to the base card. I then attached one panel of beach edges which was sponged with distress inks to the pops. Then did another panel of beach edges and attached them with foam dots, the lighthouse was then attached in between the layers.

To create the lighthouse I cut base out of white, a top panel in red and one in silver shimmer sheetz, on the red and shimmer sheetz I added double sided adhesive tape before die cutting to create a sticker. I then added the outline of the shimmer sheetz piece to the white base and chose pieces of the red and placed them inside the silver. I then aged the lighthouse with distress ink and the light was coloured with copic pens.

I made another lighthouse for the front of the card and used an oval die and sponging to highlight the sentiment.

Here is a close up of the inside sentiment, it is such a beautiful saying and do you like how dark it is? I managed to apply layer of black ink upon layer to get a deep dark black by using my Misti, I think it is going to be a very useful tool.

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft designs
Lighthouse
Shimmer sheetz
Basket Barrel with pop up
Beach Edges
Double sided tape
Distress inks: weathered wood, vintage photo, tea dye
Stamps: Verses- salt of the sea, Butterfly kisses
